Rosalio Charlie Mendoza September 4, 1932-May 30, 2005 Rosalio Charlie Mendoza, age 72, passed on May 30, 2005 at his home in Coffeyville. He was born on September 4, 1932 in Chanute, Kansas to Evarista Gutierrez and Bernie Mendoza. He was a 1951 graduate of Field Kindley Memorial High School, Coffeyville, Kansas. He served in the United States Army from 1951-1954. He also served in the United States Air Force from 1954-1971 until his retirement. He retired with rank of T Sgt. Mr. Mendoza served in Korea and Vietnam during the Wars. Mr. Mendoza worked for the US Postal service in Phoenix, Arizona for 10 years. His family then moved back to Kansas and resided in the Humboldt community. Mr. and Mrs. Mendoza moved to Coffeyville, Kansas in September 2004. He was a member of the Holy Name Catholic Church, Coffeyville, Kansas. He is survived by his wife Connie of the home in Coffeyville; Four daughters, Angelina Bennett, Collinsville, Illinois; Joni Mendoza, Phoenix, Arizona; Susan Baines, Juneau, Alaska; Charlene Isit, Phoenix, Arizona; 10 grandchildren; 3 sisters; 6 brothers. He was preceded in death by his parents, 2 brothers, 1 sister. Recitation of the Rosary will be held on Wednesday evening at 5:00 p.m., June 1, 2005 at the St. Patricks Catholic Church in Chanute, Kansas. Funeral Mass will be held 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 2, 2005 at the St. Patricks Catholic Church in Chanute, Kansas. Fr. Mike Maybrier will be officiating.
