Rowene Jacqueline McClure, 97 passed away on Friday, August 6, 2010 at CRMC in Coffeyville, Kanasas. She was born on July 20, 1913 in Tyro, Kansas to Benjamin H. and Margaret Payne Dunbar. Rowene graduated from Tyro High School in 1931. She graduated from Pittsburg Kansas State University in 1958. She taught Elementary school at Whittier, Garfield and Longfellow. On June 14, 1934 she married KennethAndy McClure in Kansas City, MO. He preceded her in death on September 13, 2004. Mrs. McClure is survived by her two children, Dr. K. Gary McClure and wife Rosalind of Merritt Island, Florida and Sondra L. Kipper and husband David of Centennial, Colorado four grandchildren, two greatgrandchildren and a sister, M. Louise Nevin of Springfield, Missouri. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband and two sisters, Wilda Mattox and Winifred Dunbar. Her memberships include: First United Methodist Church, Daughters of the American Revolution, Daughters of the Nile, Azrim Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star, Searchlight Federated Club, AAUW, Navy Mothers Club, American Legion Auxiliary, and Life Member of Coffeyville PTA, CRMC Hospital Auxiliary. Graveside Services will be held on Wednesday, August 11, 2010 at 10:00 a.m., at the Fawn Creek Cemetery rural North East of Tyro, Kansas. Family will gather at the graveside for services. Reverend John Collins will officiate. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 10, 2010 at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Kansas. Family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, August 10, 2010 from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Funeral Home. Family suggested memorial contributions can be given to the Andy and Rowene Scholarship Fund in lieu of flowers. Please leave Memorials in the care of PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel.
