Lawrence Roy Duvall 1932 - 2005 Lawrence Roy Duvall, age 72, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away early Thursday morning June 30, 2005 at his residence in Coffeyville. He was born August 11, 1932 in Chanute, Kansas to Lawrence Rosco and Edna Pennington Duvall. He attended grade and middle schools in Chanute, Kansas and high school in LeRoy, Kansas. Roy moved to Coffeyville in 1949. He graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1950, Coffeyville Community Junior College in 1953, and Central Bible Institute in Springfield, Missouri in 1958 with a Bachelor degree in Theology. He married Carol Sprague on June 4, 1954 at 1st Assembly of God Church in Coffeyville. They made their first home in Independence, Kansas before moving to Springfield, Missouri. They moved back to Coffeyville with their two children in 1958, where Roy went to work at CO-OP Refinery. He retired in 1994 after 36 years at Farmland Refinery. He was the associated pastor and youth leader at the 1st Assembly of God Church in Independence, Kansas during the years of 1958-1959. In the 1960s, he was an interim pastor for Assembly of God churches in the area. He was very active in the Coffeyville Assembly of God Church and in the work of the Lord. He held Sunday morning services at Windsor Place Care Home for 38 years until illness prevented him from continuing. He served on the PTA Council for several years. His hobbies were collecting study Bibles, model trains, genealogy and the computer. He was preceded in death by his father, Lawrence, and two younger brothers, Jack and Norman Duvall. He is survived by his wife of the home; one son, David Duvall of Owasso, Oklahoma; two daughters, Belinda Cox of Mt. Vernon, Texas and Joy Duvall of Coffeyville; four grandchildren, Angela Doyle of Foyle, Oklahoma, Brent Duvall and Tamara Duvall of Owasso, Oklahoma and Benjamin Cox of Mt. Vernon, Texas; his mother, Edna Duvall of Coffeyville and one sister Patsy DeVillers of Coffeyville. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf Bruns Chapel. A private, family only, chapel service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, July 5 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf Bruns Chapel. A private burial will follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. A memorial service will be held for friends at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday, July 5, 2005 at the First Assembly of God Church in Coffeyville.
