Ruth Springer

Ruth M. Ramson Springer, 88, of Coffeyville, died Tuesday, April 15, 2008, in Houston, Texas. Mrs. Springer was born in Horton on September 26, 1919, the daughter of George Hutchinson and Lucille Smith. She graduated from school in Ft. Scott On May 4, 1942, she married Wilmer Springer, Sr. in Ft. Scott. She later moved to Coffeyville and worked at Sunnyview nursing home. She then moved to Huntsville, Texas. Survivors include: daughters, Patricia Jacobs of Butler, Mo., Ruth Springer, of Los Angeles, Ca., Florine Pattie and Marcella Beverly, both of Las Vegas, Nev.; sons, Jeffery and Regina Springer, of Huntsville, Texas, Jerry and Latecia Springer and Eugene Springer, all of Coffeyville, and Clarence Springer, of Las Vegas; sisters, Anna Snoddy and Doris Jean Webb; brothers, William Robinson, Jr. and Johnny Hutchinson; and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, and a son, Wilmer Springer, Jr. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 24, 2008 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel of Coffeyville. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home to sign the guest register. The family will greet friends from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
