Selda Grauerholz

Selda Floriene Grauerholz, ne Paulk, lifelong resident of Coffeyville, Kansas, died at age 88 on March 13, 2008, at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 A.M. on March 17, 2008, at the First Presbyterian Church of Coffeyville, the Rev. Jane Brigden-Graham officiating. Funeral arrangements are by Penwell-Gabel Ford Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home, with interment at Fairview Cemetery, next to her parents. Selda was born June 26, 1919, at Coffeyville, Kansas, the first child of John and Viola Wolford Paulk. She was a graduate of Field Kindley Memorial High School, Class of 1937, and the University of Kansas, Class of 1941. She married Alvin F. Grauerholz on September 7, 1941, at Coffeyville, Kansas. Selda was a semi-professional Singer, Actress and Vocal Teacher, as well as a Seamstress and a collector of antique clothing and fabrics, especially lace. She was active for many years in the Coffeyville Community Theater, and the Matinee Musicale singing group. Selda was a longtime congregant of the First Presbyterian Church of Coffeyville, where for many years she sang in the Choir. She was a member of the American Association of University Women; Research Club; and P.E.O. Selda is survived by her son, James W. Grauerholz, of Lawrence, Kansas, and by her sister June Barelli and Dr. Pat A. Barelli, of Overland Park, Kansas; her brother John Paulk and Elinor Paulk, of Seabeck, Washington; and many nieces and nephews. Her sister, Ila Schmidt, preceded her in death.
