Sele Samoa Launiu Noa aka High Chief Tufuolemataafa, 74, was born on September 2, 1934 to Lafoga Launiu Noa and Faasamoa Launiu in Masefau, Am. Samoa. Sele surrendered his soul to Jesus on April 1, 2009 in Coffeyville, KS at his home. Sele was the fifth of seventeen children born and adopted. In Masefau Am. Samoa he was a fisherman, Professional Boxer, and best pitcher in Kricket. He was the Dynamite man for the Government of Am. Samoa for twenty six years. He came to the U.S. when he was forty years of age. Sele worked at the Naval Training Center for fifteen years in San Diego, CA. He then moved to Coffeyville, KS to live with his daughter Faasamoa and grandchildren. Sele cherished his Samoan culture, children, family and friends. He was the most free hearted person you could ever meet. His philosophy wasYou never know who you could be helping, it could be Jesus or an angel. He believes in Jesus for all. He rededicated his life to Jesus on Sunday, March 22, 2009. He leaves in Gods care his natural children as well as adopted: daughter, Faasamoa Launiu Craig of Coffeyville, as he always saidhis one and only; grandsons, Sele Ancar Teruko of Wichita, KS, Alvin Ancar Char of Coffeyville; granddaughters, Latoya Roger Ancar of Coffeyville, Shayla Launiu of San Diego, CA; great grandchildren, Sikai and Tala Taulani Ancar of Wichita, KS; adopted daughters, Vaimaila Sele and Kanima Williams both of San Diego, CA; adopted sons, Isaako Mapuni Moana of Long Beach, CA, Saumalemua Pule of Am. Samoa; sisters, Meki Ahloe of Kansas City, MO, Merita Faiai of San Diego, CA, Punipuao Magalei of American Samoa, Leufea Tafulu of San Diego, CA; brother Lafoga Launiu of Hilo, HI, as well as a host of grandchildren great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended relatives. Special guest High Talking Chief Selau Launiu nephew of Tacoma, WA and his dogs Pualani and Keona Launiu of Coffeyville, KS. He was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife, Vaimaila; a daughter; four sons; brothers; sisters; grandsons and a great granddaughter. Family will greet friends Thursday, April 9, 2009 from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the chapel.
