Sherry Jean Emery, 60, Coffeyville, Kansas, died Monday, October 10, 2011 at her home. Sherry was born March 16, 1951 at Kansas City, Missouri to Dale J. Dixon and Genevieve Kaufman Dixon. She grew up in Pleasant Hill, Missouri, leaving there as a teenager. Sherry lived in Coffeyville for some time before moving to Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1981. It was in September of 1981 that she married Mike Emery at Miami, Oklahoma. The couple would divorce in 2002 but had remained good friends. While in Tulsa, she worked as an office manager for Jim Cook Heat amp Air and Surfside Japanese Auto. Sherry moved back to Coffeyville in 2009 and had worked in home health care. Sherry lived life to the fullest and enjoyed spending time at cookouts with her family. She loved to travel to places like Cozumel, Cabo San Lucas and the Virgin Islands, where she always made it back with some seashells or coral. Sherry liked camping and enjoyed spending time at Oklahomas Grand Lake. Survivors are her exhusband, Mike Emery of Coffeyville two sons, John J. Emery of Tulsa and James M. Young of Coffeyville two daughters, Angela Young and Karrie Stansbury, both of Coffeyville two brothers, Jim Dixon and his wife, Judy of Midland, Texas and Richard Dixon of Houston, Texas two sisters, Connie Datson and her husband, Steve of Coffeyville and Patty Belveal of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and seven grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents by two brothers, Ron and Jeff Dixon and by two granddaughters, Jessika and Desiree. Graveside services will be held 2 p.m., Friday, October 14, 2011 at the Veterans Patio of Coffeyvilles Fairview Cemetery. Service and interment are under the direction of PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel. Friends may sign the register book, Thursday, 9 a.m. 8 p.m. and the family will be on hand for visitation from 6 8 p.m.
