Sherry L. Audley Sherry L. Audley, 56, of Leawood, KS, passed away on August 23, 2005 at the Kansas University Medical Center surrounded by family and friends. Sherry was born on February 27, 1949, in Coffeyville, KS, the daughter of Harold and Bernice Allen. A graduate of Field-Kindley High School, she attended Coffeyville Community College before moving to Kansas City in 1969. Sherry began a career in the airline and aerospace industries and was employed by Air Distributors and Aircraft Specialty Products during the 1970s and early 1980s. In 1983, she founded the Midstate Aerospace Corporation of Olathe, KS. She has been the companys president and co-owner up to the present date. With her best friend and co-owner, Cleo Brager, another corporation, Fastner and Hose Technology, was established with Ms. Brager as company president and Sherry as vice-president. In 1997, MSA was honored by the United States Small Business Administration as one of the top ten small businesses in America. In 2005, Famp;HT was also honored as a top ten small business corporation by the SBA. These owners also sponsored many soccer and basketball teams in the Olathe youth leagues in the 1980s and 1990s as well as creating jobs for a significant number of employees. Sherry is survived by her husband, Patrick, and her sons, Patrick Jr., and William A. Audley. She is also survived by her mother, Bernice; and sisters Carol Larry Phillips, Judy Jack Weathers; and brother, Gary Delores Allen. Additional survivors include father-in-law and mother-in-law William and Eileen Audley. Sister-in-law Margaret Richard Cipolla, Mary Ron Clarke, and Michelle Tom Audley. Brothers-in-law include Michael, Jim, Robert, and John Audley. Also surviving Sherry are Cleo Brager, her daughters Doris and Mickey, their husbands Rob and Ronnell, respectively; and 22 nieces and nephews. Included in Sherrys extended family include all employees of both current and former, as well as Eve Rutigliano, Dorothy Hess, Larry and Doris Gibson, Jim and Carol Farrell, Mark Arnesberg, Roberta Farrell, and Judge emeritus William Cleaver. The family would also like to extend its thanks and appreciation to the medical professionals at Saint Josephs Health Center in Kansas City and Kansas University Medical Center in KCKS. Sherry conducted her life and her business with an elegance and grace that were the hallmarks of her success. Family, friends and medical personnel at KUMC saw both these traits manifested during her final hours. Visitation will be Thursday, August 25, at McGilleys Chapel, 12301 State Line, Kansas City, MO, from 5:30-8 p.m. Services will be held at the Penwell Gable Funeral Home at 2 p.m. in Coffeyville, KS, on August 26.
