Shirley Ann Bond, age 79 of Coffeyville, KS, passed away on January 25, 2017 at Coffeyville Regional Medical Center.
Shirley was born in Coffeyville on June 16, 1937 to Louis and Minerva (Webb) Speck. She attended school in Coffeyville and graduated from Field Kindley High School in 1955. After high school Shirley found employment with Boeing and Haliburton Services as a legal assistant, where she dedicated over 24 years of loyal service before her retirement in 1998. Shirley was blessed with two children, a son and daughter. She enjoyed reading, traveling, movies, horse racing, and entertaining and cooking for friends. She always enjoyed a watch party during the Academy Awards with girlfriends in Wichita, and loved hosting holiday parties. Most of all she enjoyed being with her close friends, her dog, and all of her family. Shirley was a reserved lady but was always well respected and full of class.
Those left to cherish her memory are, her son, Clay Walthall, his wife Lisa; her daughter, Melissa Jennings; grandchildren, Matt Walthall, his wife Alysia; Alayna Bruna, her husband James; Raye Pugh, her husband Koby; Emily Jennings, and Hannah Jennings; great-grandchildren, Katy and Becca Walthall. She was preceded in death by her parents, son-in-law, David Jennings; sister, Carol Louise Williamson.
Honoring Shirley's wishes, cremation has taken place under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel and the family will hold a private memorial service at a later date. The family suggests memorials to the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center Foundation designated to the Tatman Cancer Center and they may be sent in care of the Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel 2405 Woodland Ave. Coffeyville, KS 67337.
