Shirley E. Mayo passed away at the age of 80 at CRMC in Coffeyville, Kansas.
Shirley was born on August 3, 1940, in Coffeyville to Homer and Mabel (Allen) Replogle. She attended school in Coffeyville graduating from Field Kindley Memorial High. On April 9, 1959, she married the love of her life, Donald Mayo in Miami, Oklahoma, together they made their home in Coffeyville, of that union two daughters, Sheryl, and Ronda were born. Donald preceded her in death on April 9, 2019.
Shirley retired from ACC in Independence where she worked for several years. Shirley was a hard worker, a woman who was not afraid to speak her mind, always truthful and supported her family and would do anything for them. She enjoyed tending to her flower gardens, feeding the deer, squirrels and birds, she could sit for hours watching them come in to eat. Grandchildren and greatgrandchildren were the true pleasures of her life and had a special bond with each of them.
Shirley is survived by her daughters, Sheryl and husband Terry Bohannon, Ronda and husband David Elsheimer; grandchildren, Ethan Elsheimer and his wife Monya, Rachel and her husband Casey Hanlon; great grandchildren, Braxten and Bentley Elsheimer, Tripp Hanlon. In addition to her husband and parents she was preceded in death by her sister, Lorene Coppock.
Private graveside services will under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville where she will be laid to rest next to her husband Donald and near her parents. The family has requested memorial contributions to be made payable to St. Judes Children’s Hospital and may be left in care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland, Coffeyville, KS 67337.
