Shirley Jean Newman Medford, 81, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away Friday, August 5, 2011 at her home. Shirley was born February 7, 1930 in Coffeyville, Kansas to Ernest and Frances Clark Newman. She grew up in Coffeyville where she attended local schools, graduating from Field Kindley Memorial High. On October 12, 1948 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Andrew G. Medford in Coffeyville, Kansas at the Central Church of the Nazarene. The couple made their home in Coffeyville. Shirley was a home maker, she enjoyed caring for her family, baking and trying new recipes, sewing, reading and making doll clothes. In 2005 she and her daughters started an eBay business called Shirleys Handmade Doll Fashions. She created all the fashions. Her greatest passion was sewing. She was a member of the Central Church of the Nazarene. She was known to made cinnamon rolls and glazed donuts every year for New Years Day for the church. She was also a Sunday School Secretary for the church for several years. She is survived by her daughters, Sharon Neeley and husband, James Earl of Coffeyville, Kansas, Cathy Medford of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Linda Wilson of Pryor, Oklahoma three grandsons, Michael, Bradley, and Bryan Wilson two greatgranddaughters and one greatgrandson sisters, Virginia Newman of Coffeyville, Kansas and Dixie Conklin of Granola, Kansas. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ernest and Frances her loving husband, Andrew G. Medford son, AndrewAndy E. Medford brothers, Jimmy, Richard and Charles Newman. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, August 9th, 2011 at 1:00 p.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery in Coffeyville. Friends may call on Monday, August 8th, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. to sign the guest register at the funeral home.
