Stephen Bucher

Former Coffeyville resident Stephen A. Bucher age 79, passed away at home, March 4, 2009 in Prairie Village, KS. Steve was born July 21, 1929 in Coffeyville, KS to Tilden and Mary Bucher. He served our country during the Korean Conflict in the U.S. Army. Steve married Geneva Harrington on November 10, 1956 eventually settling in Prairie Village, KS. He retired from Sherwin Williams after 43 years of service. He is survived by his wife, Geneva, of the home, his son Joseph Betty Bucher, Louisburg, KS, daughter Susan Dave Miles, Overland Park, KS, daughter Lisa Rob Sinow, Roeland Park, KS, and daughter Peggy Roger Bellamy, Joplin, MO. Also survived by his sister Anita Sherry Sowell of Coffeyville, and a sister Lois Featherston of Princeton, N.J., and grandchildren Emily, Nicole, Anthony, Bobby and Abbie, Ryan and Lindsey. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Stephanie Bucher. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 9, 2009 at 11:00 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Dr. Wayne Norton will officiate. Burial will follow at Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Judes Childrens Hospital or to the charity of your choice these may be left with the funeral home.
