Steven L. Lopeman Age 52, of Coffeyville, Kansas passed away late Sunday evening, January 30, 2005 at his home. Mr. Lopeman was born April 20, 1952 in Chanute, Kansas to Robert U. and Lenore Kathryn Pens Lopeman. He attended school in Chanute, where he graduated in 1970, followed by completing an Associate degree in Police Science at Neosho Community College, also in Chanute. On February 26, 1977, he married Cheryl Ann Frazier at Kansas City, Missouri. She survives at the home. Mr. Lopeman was employed by the Coffeyville Country Club as golf greens superintendent for 22 years, before becoming the Athletic Field manager of the Veterans Memorial Stadium and Aquatic Center for the City of Coffeyville for four years. He was a member of Westside Christian Church and Golf Course Superintendents Association of America. Mr. Lopeman is also survived by: three daughters, Jaime Candice Langworthy and husband Gary, of Coffeyville, KS Alison Brooke Lopeman, of Edna, KS Brenda Ann Lopeman, of Coffeyville, KS his mother, Lenore Kathryn Lopeman, of Chanute, KS two brothers, William E. Lopeman, of Rose Hill, KS Douglas W. Lopeman, of Humboldt, KS three grandchildren, Coleton James Langworthy, Carson Lynn Langworthy and Ty Allen Langworthy. He is preceded in death by his father. Cremation has taken place. A memorial service will be held 11 am, Wednesday, February 2 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel with inurnment of the ashes in Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, both of Coffeyville. Pastor Mike Elrod will be officiating. The family will receive friends Tuesday evening, 7 until 8 pm at the funeral home.
