Thelma Lois Francis, 101, of Coffeyville, Ks, passed away Wednesday September 19, 2012, at Windsor Place Nursing Center.
Thelma was born September 6, 1911, in Houston, Missouri, to Frank and Ann Hogan Bishop. She married Herbert Royson Francis on August 29, 1931, in Houston, Missouri. She and Mr. Francis made their home in Coffeyville where they raised their children. She was employed at the Page Milk Company for many years and later retired from Litwins. She was a member of the First Southern Baptist Church of Coffeyville. She was a member of the Red Hats. She enjoyed playing softball in her younger years and later on quilting.
Thelma was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, daughters Maxine Walker and Neva Todd, son Kenneth Francis, brothers, Wilburn, Jack and Frank Bishop, and her sister Edna Pate.
Those left to cherish her memory are her son Ron Francis and his wife Dicksie of Dalton, Ga. and her daughter Ann Grandclair and her husband Joe of Whitney, Tx, Her grandchildren Mike Hufferd, Cheryl Heaves, Michelle Mitchem, Shawn Francis, Teresa Herren, Lisa Wooten, Tim Todd, Mark Francis, Rhonda Fuduloff, Stephanie Clark, Lorie Diaz and Brad Grandclair, and several great and greatgreat grandchildren.
Funeral service for Thelma will be held at 2:00 P.M. Sunday September 23, 2012, in the FordWulfBruns Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Gerald Morris officiating. A private family interment will follow at a later date.Those serving as honorary pallbearers will be Mark Francis, Shawn Francis, Brad Grandclair, Travis Herren, Mike Huffard and Jay Mitchem. Friends may call from 1:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. on Saturday September 22, 2012, with the family receiving friends from 6:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donors choice.
