Thomas Jones

Thomas Roy Jones, 79, of Frontenac, Kansas died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at Landmark Hospital in Joplin, Missouri. Cremation has taken place and no services are being held. Arrangements were provided by PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Thomas was born February 28, 1932 at Neal, Kansas to Dwight Pete Jones and Alice Row Jones. On July 26, 1952, he was united in marriage to Myrtle Siever in Pleasanton, Kansas. He was called to the military and spent 22 years in the service of his country. He retired and the Joneses moved to Coffeyville in 1974 and began farming. In 1976, the couple moved to Wichita, then returned to Coffeyville in 1985, where the couple opened Elite Appliance and operated it until 1995, when Toms health forced his retirement. On March 6, 2011, Myrtle preceded him in death. Thomas was a member of VFW Post 1022 and the Masons and attended Coffeyville Church of God. He enjoyed farming, gardening, and traveling with the Heritage Club. Survivors are his sons, Thomas E. Jones of Wichita, Theodore R. Jones and his wife, Sarah and Troy D. Jones and his wife, Michelle, all of Coffeyville two daughters, Amelia M. Bothfeld and her husband, Stephen of Cabot, Vermont and Cindy J. Hefling and her husband, Kenneth of Wichita brother, Arthur Jones and his wife, Marge of Girard 13 grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents wife brother, Tony Jones and three grandchildren.
