Van Grant

GRANT, Van A Van Artha Grant was born on August 22, 1947 in Kansas City, Kansas to Juno M. Grant and Artha Lee Grant. He was the only son of two children. His sibling is Tanda L. Meadors. Van was raised and spent his early childhood in Coffeyville, Kansas, moving to Albuquerque in 1958 with his family. Van attended Albuquerque High school and TVI technical college before serving in the armed forces January 1968 to December 1969. Van resided in Los Angeles, California for the past 37 years. He is preceded in death by his father, Artha L. Grant and mother Juno M. Grant. He leaves to mourn, sister, Tanda L. Meadors, Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Assata Dana Osayande-Scott; grandson, Ayinde Osayande of Glendale, CA; daughter, Stacy L. Nash of Odessa, TX; Nephews, Michael R. and Artha L. Meadors; great nieces Savannah, Erin and Neftalie; cousin, Doyle L. Cowan of Albuquerque, NM; and a host of family and friends. Viewing will be held from 1:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 6, 2006 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel, 2405 Woodland, Coffeyville, KS 67337. Final interment and graveside services will be Saturday, October 7, 2006, 10:00am, Fairview Cemetery 2500 Woodland, Coffeyville, KS, 67337. Family and friends will gather at the graveside prior to services. Rev. V.O. Horn, Jr. of the Sardis First Missionary Baptist Church will be presiding.
