VELMA GRACE BRUNER WILLIAMS Velma Grace Bruner Williams, 89, formerly of Dearing, Kansas passed away Saturday morning, May 26, 2007 at the Heritage Villa Nursing Center in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Velma was born July 20, 1917 in Bristow, Oklahoma to Oscar J. and Ella Mae Eveland Bruner. She was raised in Oxford, Kansas where she received her education. She married Cecil L. Williams on August 08, 1955 in Albuquerque, New Mexico and he preceded her in death on October 28, 1974. Velma was a secretary for Kraft Foods for 20 years. She moved to Dearing, Kansas in April of 1978 from Wichita, Kansas. She was a member of the St. Paul Episcopal Church and a 50 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star. One of her greatest joys was working at St. Pauls Thrift Shop. Velma loved her flowers, birds and digging in the dirt. Velma is survived by numerous loving nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by her parents; two sisters and five brothers. Cremation will take place under the direction of the Penwell-Gabel Ford Wulf Bruns Crematory. Memorial services for Velma G. Bruner-Williams will be at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 04, 2007 at St. Pauls Episcopal Church with Father Jerry Adinolfi celebrating the service. Burial of her urn will take place at 3:00 p.m., Monday, June 04, 2007 at the Highland Cemetery, Winfield, Kansas. The family has suggested memorial contributions to the St. Paul Episcopal Church.
