Velma Loree Kuch, 83, of Coffeyville passed away Sunday, October 3, 2010 at her home. She was born on July 5, 1927 in Coffeyville, KS to Charles and PhoebeAddie Dotson Johnson. She grew up in Coffeyville, graduating from Field Kindley High School in 1945. On April 15, 1949 she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Allan L. Kuch. The couple moved to Midland, Texas in 1953. After thirtythree years in Midland the couple returned to Coffeyville in 1986. Velma was a homemaker, and also a legal secretary for three years. She enjoyed sewing, making doll clothes, knitting and crocheting. She was very talented at crafts and cooking. She made the best pumpkin pie. Most of all she enjoyed being a wife and mother. She was a member of the Central Baptist Church. Velma was a believer in Christ and followed his word for her entire life. She is survived by her loving husband, Al of the home children, Linda Pingel and husband Steve of Maryville, Illinois, Mark Kuch and wife Pam of Edmond, Oklahoma, Denise Pani and husband Eric of Monroe, Louisiana, Susan Butts and husband Lee of Paige, Texas, Kent Kuch and wife Suzanne of Hot Springs, Arkansas brother, Carl Johnson of Coffeyville, Kansas seven grandchildren and five greatgrandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Addie brothers Emler Johnson, E.A. Johnson, O.B. Johnson, Thearn Johnson, and William T. Johnson sisters, Q. Evelyn Peterson and Mildred Spencer. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, October 7, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at PenwellGabel FordWulfBruns Chapel in Coffeyville. Chaplain Mike Graham will officiate. Burial will follow at the Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday, October 6, 2010 from 1:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home to sign the guest register. The family suggests in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Harry Hynes Memorial Hospice.
