Box 517 Locust Grove, OK 74352 918-479-8161 Obituary for Viola Marie Ward Viola Marie Wagner Ward was born March 7, 1919, in Peabody, Kansas, to Edward Jounce and Myrtle Thomas Wagner. She departed this life on Friday, February 17, 2006, in Locust Grove, Oklahoma, at the age of 86 years, 11 months, and 10 days. Viola grew up and attended schools in Dearing, Kansas. She and Lloyd Samuel Ward were united in marriage on September 13, 1936, in Coffeyville, Kansas. He preceded his wife in death on February 2, 1984. Viola was a devoted homemaker, wife, mother, sister, and grandmother. She was a Coffeyville resident for many years. She had moved to Locust Grove, Oklahoma in September of 2005. Viola loved her sisters and family dearly. She will be missed by each of them. Viola is survived by: 3 sisters: Norie Joplin of Wichita, Kansas; Lucille Keely of Wichita, Kansas; Dorothy Ryan of Coffeyville, Kansas; 1 daughter-in-law: Mary Sikes of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; 3 grandchildren: Brenda Morris and husband Nick of Locust Grove, Oklahoma; John Ward and wife Betty of Salina, Oklahoma; Jonette Duck and husband Stanley of Chouteau, Oklahoma; 10 great grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; Other relatives and a host of friends. Viola was preceded in death by: her parents; her husband; 1 son: Danny Lloyd Ward on November 2, 1996; and 1 brother. Funeral services will be held 2:30 P.M., Wednesday, February 22, 2006, at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Burns Chapel at 2405 Woodland Avenue in Coffeyville, Kansas. Shawn Bates will officiate. Interment will be at Penwell-Gabel Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery in Coffeyville. Services have been entrusted to the Locust Grove Funeral Home.
