Walter Merchant

It is with great sadness that the family of Walter Merrell Merchant announce his passing on Wednesday, June 19, 2019, at the age of 82 years. Walter will be lovingly remembered by his son Mitch, his sister Ann and his brother Joe (Polly). He will also be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Brendan, Emily, Sarah and Robert. Walter was preceded in passing by his sister Betty and brothers, James, Clarence, Robert and Daniel.

A long-time resident of the Coffeyville area, Walter attended Field Kindley High School. He was employed by both the Sherwin Williams Company in Coffeyville and Day and Zimmerman in Parsons. For many years, he worked for enduring Coffeyville establishment Isham's Hardware.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, June 26 at 6PM with Rosary beginning at 7PM, at Holy Name Catholic Church, 408 Willow Street. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, June 27 at 12:30PM at Holy Name Catholic Church, Father Dan Lorimer will be officiating. Interment will follow under the direction of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel at Union Cemetery, 2200 and 5700 Road (old Olive St. Road), outside Coffeyville.
