She was born to John and Thelma Steffen on July 1, 1941 in Sterling, Colorado. She graduated from Wellington High School in 1959 where she enjoyed cheering on all of the teams as a part of the cheerleading squad. On September 13, 1959 she married her High School sweetheart, Roy K. Nace. They made their home in the Northern Colorado area. After retirement Wanda and Roy moved to Coffeyville Kansas. Wanda and Roy were blessed with 3 children, Ronda, Rocky and Debra.
Wanda was employed by Hewlett Packard in Loveland Colorado and retired in 2003. One of her biggest accomplishments was to help remodel a cabin in Red Feather Lakes and then to help Roy build their own home in Crystal Lakes, Colorado. Wanda loved to go dancing with Roy and they would always be the last ones off the dance floor. She also enjoyed bowling and was a member of many bowling teams while living in Loveland. Wanda loved to cross stitch and took great pride in sharing the finished products with those she loved. She also loved playing cards. She had the best poker face while playing, resulting in winning many of the games. Wanda’s greatest enjoyment was watching all of her grandkids participating in all of their many activities as they grew up.
Survivors include her two daughters, Ronda Whitmer and husband Scott of Lucedale Mississippi; Debbie Eastman and husband Brit of Coffeyville Kansas; two sisters, Barbara Johnson of Fort Collins, Colorado, and Florence Crow of Mesa, Arizona; one brother Wayne Steffen of Fort Collins, Colorado; 5 grandchildren, Jason Zwiebel of Mesa Arizona, Camille Wilson and husband Hugh of Lucedale, Mississippi, Zachary Mitchell and wife Kristen of Fort Smith, Arkansas, Curtis Whitmer of Lucedale, Mississippi and Joshua Mitchell and wife Hope of Coffeyville Kansas; and 3 great grandchildren, Lillian, Sadie and Amos.
