Rural Edna resident, Warren P. Mitchell, entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, August 7, 2007 at his home. He was 88. Warren Perry Mitchell was born June 7, 1919 in Edna, Kansas to Perry and Edith Stubbs Mitchell. He grew up and attended school at On November 19, 1937 he married Leola Fern Jones in Dewey, Oklahoma. Following their marriage, the couple came to Coffeyville, and later moved to Edna in 1946. Mr. Mitchell had been employed by the CO-OP Refinery in Coffeyville. Survivors include a son Tommy Mitchell of Parsons, Kansas; three daughters, Darlene Rutter, of Fort Myers, Florida, Paula Martek, of North Port, Florida, Jo Kinzie and husband Brian, of Edna, Kansas. There are 11 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren. Warren was preceded in death by his parents, wife Leola Fern Mitchell, Graveside services will be held at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 11, 2007 in the Robbins Cemetery west of Coffeyville. Pastor will officiate and services are under the direction of Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home of Coffeyville. Friends may call on Friday, August 10, 2007 from 9 am until 9 pm at the funeral home to sign the guest register. Memorial may be made to and these may be left with the funeral home.
