Rural Edna, Kansas resident, Wauneta B. Moore died Sunday, December 9, 2007 in Edna. She was 80. Wauneta was born March 8, 1927 in Edna to Irvin Ray and Geneva Duncan Maxson. She grew up and attended school in Edna and graduated from Edna High School. On August 3, 1946 she married Robert Bob Moore at her parents home south of Edna, Kansas. Following their marriage they made their home on a farm west of Edna where they farmed and raised cattle. In 1979 they retired from farming but continued to raise cattle. She worked as a bookkepper for Maxson Sale Barn for many years and later worked as nurses aid for the hospital. After her retirement she was a caregiver of the elderly for many years and enjoyed helping people. She is survived by a son Al Moore of Guymon, Oklahoma; a daughter Susanne Robinson and husband Issac; two brothers Dale and Guy Maxson all of Edna, Kansas; a sister Wanda Ladage of Parsons. There are four grandchildren, Darci Moore, Jimmie Moore, Robin Moore and Ira Allen, ten Great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Robert Allen Moore, two brothers Wauyaugh and Carval Maxson; and a great-grandson. Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 15, 2007 in the First United Methodist Church, Valeda, Kansas. Reverend Lewis O. Smith will officiate and burial will follow in the North Edna Cemetery, Edna, Kansas. Friends may call on Friday December 14, 2007 from 9 am to 9pm at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home to sign the guest registar. The family will receive friends from 6pm to 8pm on Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to the First United Methodist Church, Valeda, or the Hospice of Kansas. These may be left with the funeral home.
