Wayne Gulick ElvinWayne Gulick passed away at home in Bedford, TX, on Saturday, November 25, 2007. He was 84. The son of Jess and Dora Gulick, he was born July 13, 1923, near Eureka in Greenwood County, KS. He served in the U.S. Army in France during WWII. As a result of injuries suffered during the war, he received a medical discharge and was awarded the Purple Heart. He was united in marriage to Rosie Elizabeth Hattan on December 31, 1947. She preceded him in death in 1994. Wayne retired from the Union Gas System in Coffeyville in 1988. Survivors include six children, Clyde of Bedford, TX, Ronald of Rockville, MD, Twyla Sanders of South Coffeyville, OK, Belinda Erne of Coffeyville, KS, Darrel of Leavenworth, KS, and Mark of Wichita, KS; three brothers, Calvin of Caney, KS, and Marion and Shirley, both of Fredonia, KS; 21 grandchildren and 26 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m.Saturday, December 1, 2007, at Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home. Interment will be in Lake Creek Union Cemetery near Bartlett, KS. Friends may call at the funeral home Friday from 9 a.m.-9 p.m. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
