William Clapp

William Bill R. Clapp, age 66, Coffeyville, Kansas resident entered into rest on October 25, 2006 at the St. Johns Regional Medical Center, Joplin, Missouri. He was born December 6, 1939 in Sapulpa, Oklahoma to Floyd and Dorothy Vansickle Clapp. William was a 1957 graduate of Sapulpa High School, Sapulpa, Oklahoma. He was very active Band Member of the Sapulpa High School. He then attended a Business College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On October 18, 1964 he married Wilma Ferguson in Miami, Oklahoma. They have celebrated more than 42 years of marriage. They made their home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. William was a Produce Manager for Safeway. They later made their home in Coffeyville. William retired in 2002 after 37 years of service. Hobbies include watching sports on TV and attending his grandchildrens school activities, crossword puzzles. Survivors include his wife, Wilma of the home in Coffeyville, His mother, Dorothy Freeman, Coffeyville, Ks.; Two sons, Scott Clapp Terri unknown resident and Kevin Clapp Sheila of Edna, Ks.; Two daughters, Tonya Brashear Keith, Pemberton, Mn.; Gina Clapp Shorty, Coffeyville, Ks. William loved his 6 grandchildren dearly which include: Jesse Inman, Jessica Grundy, Amanda Clapp, Dillon Brashear, Steven King, J.J. Martin. He was preceded in death by his father, Floyd and his step-father, Leroy Hoot Freeman, half brother, David Freeman, half sister, Carol Smith and brother, Mickey Clapp. Calling hoursVisitation: Mr. Clapp will lie in state at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Ks. from 9:00 a.m. until 9:00 p.m., Friday, October 27, 2006. Family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Funeral Services will be held 10:00 a.m., October 28, 2006 at the Penwell-Gabel Ford-Wulf-Bruns Funeral Home, 2405 Woodland Ave., Coffeyville, Ks. Burial will follow in the Penwell-Gabels Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Coffeyville, Ks. Rev. Ford Hall of the First Church of the Nazarene will be officiating and Pastor David Pack of Christian Church in Tulsa.
