Scott Dickerman

William Scott Dickerman, a beloved husband, father, and pawpaw, passed away peacefully on April 2, 2025, at the Journey Home in Bartlesville, at the age of 81.

Born on May 10, 1943, to William Augustas and Edith Ethel (Harris) Dickerman in Sherman, Texas, he fondly became known as Scott. Scott spent his childhood in Borger, Texas, where he completed his education, and it was there that he began to take the first steps toward a life of love and family.

In high school, a chance encounter with a young woman named Lela Pierce, fueled by the whim of mutual friends, would change his life. They were brought together on an unforgettable double date which ended much differently than it began. The couples originally paired did not work out, but a different pairing formed an unbreakable bond for Scott and Lela that culminated in marriage on February 2, 1962 in Borger, Texas. In 1966 they moved to Pampa, Texas where together, they raised four wonderful children: Anthony Scott, Otto Bryan, Debra Leanna, and Jeffrey Kyle. In 2021, Scott and Lela relocated to Coffeyville, Kansas to be near their daughter Leanna. They celebrated 60 years of love and partnership before Lela's passing on November 21, 2022.

Scott dedicated over 40 years to Panhandle Industrial, later known as Nichols, where his steadfast loyalty was evident until his retirement in 2006. He wore many hats, but none were more important to him than that of a devoted husband, loving father and pawpaw. In his younger days, Scott enjoyed fishing, crafting leather goods, and spending time honing his skills in needlework alongside his wife Lela and target shooting with his sons and grandsons. As he grew older, his passion for reading flourished as did his love for western movies.

Scott was a man of gentle strength, characterized by his kindness, humor, intelligence, and generosity. He offered a comforting shoulder to lean on for those around him, and summers were cherished as special moments filled with adventures with his grandchildren, creating memories that will forever bring warmth to their hearts. Scott's heart overflowed with love for the many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who filled his life with joy.

Scott is survived by his daughter Leanna Cook and her husband Robbie, along with their children: Brad Cook and his wife Jennifer, and their daughters Emilie, Andersyn, and Elliana; Tyler Cook and his wife Erica, and their daughter Taytum; Diana Carr and her husband Cameron, and their soon to arrive, Baby Carr. He also leaves behind his son Jeffrey Kyle Dickerman and his wife Grace, and the grandchildren from his late sons: Anthony Scott Dickerman, whose daughters are Erika Gulick and her husband Jeff and sons Lliam and Aaron, and Stephanie Legako and her husband Jerrad and daughters June and Jolee; and Otto Bryan Dickerman, whose children are Brandon Dunham and his wife Ashley and their son Dalton, Casey White with her sons Nick, Cuyler, and Max, and Lela Cantrell and her husband Geoff with daughter Lana, and sons Xander, Lakota, and Lex. Scott is preceded in death by his parents and his beloved wife Lela, and sons Anthony Scott, Otto Bryan and as well as all his 3 brothers and 2 sisters.

A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, April 11, 2025, at 10:30 AM at the Veterans Memorial Patio, under the care of Ford-Wulf-Bruns Chapel.
