Wilma M. Foland Wolters Kahre, 94, of Coffeyville, Kansas went to be with the Lord on Saturday, September 1, 2012 at the Coffeyville Regional Medical Center, Coffeyville, Kansas.
A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday September 6, 2012 at the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Coffeyville, Kansas, with the Reverend Richard Peckman officiating. Burial will follow in the Restlawn Cemetery in Coffeyville, under the direction of the FordWulfBruns Funeral Home in Coffeyville, Kansas.
The family has suggested memorials to the St Pauls Lutheran Church and contributions may be left at the FordWulfBruns Funeral Home in Coffeyville.
Wilma was born August 8, 1918 in Coffeyville, Kansas the daughter of Oliver Guy Foland and Ethel Coy Foland. She grew up in Coffeyville and attended and graduated from the Coffeyville School System.
On August 22, 1937 Wilma was united in marriage to Victor Wolters the couple spent 47 loving years together in Coffeyville Victor preceded her in death in 1984. On October 10, 1987 Wilma married Herold Kahre and they had 23 loving years together Herold preceded her in death in 2010.
Wilma worked as a Telephone operator for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company from 1946 to 1976 retiring after 30 years.
She was a member of the St Pauls Lutheran Church and the Priscilla Guild also the Telephone Pioneers.
Survivors include two daughters Beverly Fowler of Wichita, Ks., Nancy Miller, of Ozark, Ar., one stepson Wayne and wife Glenda Kahre of Bartlesville, Okla., one stepdaughter Wanda and husband Tom Sommer of Ft Wayne, Ind., one sister Ruth and husband Jess Hunt of Baxter Springs Ks., one brother Raymond and wife Dollie Foland of Indianapolis, Ind. Eight grandchildren thirteen great grand children and four great great grandchildren.
Wilma was preceded in death her parents a brother Glenn Foland, sister Margaret Brocaw and a grandson Brian Kirby.
