Wilma Shelton

Wilma Jean Shelton, 88, of Kansas City, MO passed away Saturday March 12, 2011 at North Kansas City Hospital. A memorial service is scheduled for 7PM Monday March 14, at Victory Hills Church of Nazarene, 6200 Parallel Pkwy, Kansas City, KS 66102 where a visitation will be held at 6:30 PM. Graveside services will be 2PM Tuesday at Restlawn Memorial Park Cemetery, Coffeyville, KS a visitation will be held from 12PM Tuesday at the PenwellGabel Funeral Home, Coffeyville Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation, 8085 Saltsburg Rd. Suite 201 Pittsburgh, PA 15239 or HELP 317 Community Food Pantry, 6200 Parallel Pkwy, Kansas City, KS 66102. Jean was born August 24, 1922 in Kansas City, MO. She lived most of her life in Coffeyville, KS. She married Edward M. Shelton March 14, 1941 in Little Rock, AR. She retired from Emerson Electric in Independence, KS. She was a devoted member of the Nazarene Church. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1986. She is survived by her daughter Carolyn Overstreet Ernest, of Kansas City, MO. Her sister JoAnne Housel, of Kansas City, MO. 3 granddaughters and 7 great grandchildren and many other nieces and nephews.
